This is a nice and romantic book. I haven't read a lot of books about domestic violence, so it was refreshing in a weird way. I'm glad that there is a warning from the author and because of that, the prologue was not that hard to take in. It was still a tough topic, though.
I liked the characters, but not that much. Izzy was a strong woman and I was sorry that she had to live through the abuse for years. As for Axel, I thought he was a bit too much to handle. He was hot, alright. Well, ALL male characters were HOT. However, there was something about him that didn't spark my interest. Dee was a great friend. Greg, too. But Greg sent out weird vibe. His relationship with Izzy was too intimate, I think.
Besides, the conversations were choppy and you'll find F-bombs in almost every conversation. I thought F-bombs were overused and sometimes I didn't think it was that necessary.
